My Story

Moving around Queensland during my 30 plus years in the Banking and Finance industry I held a wide range of positions in the ANZ Bank. As diverse as these positions were I found that this was an exciting path as I had extensive dealings with many businesses across Queensland which provided me with an appreciation of the diversity of business styles.

In 1984 I moved to Esanda Finance and my time there encompassed a number of roles involving administration, lending and customer relationship management. The 1990's saw me specialise in Equipment Finance where I was able to apply my extensive background in Banking & Finance for the benefit of my clients.

In 2001 I left Esanda to take up a partnership with an Equipment Finance Broker but in 2006, together with my other director colleagues, we decided to create a new Finance Broker group called ‘ Broadlink’.

During my working career I completed a Diploma in Management in 1997 and am currently a Senior Associate with Finsia (formally the Australasian Institute of Banking and Finance), a Justice of the Peace (Qualified) in the state of Queensland and recently completed my Certificate IV in Financial Services (Finance / Mortgage Broking).

With my spare time I like nothing more that hitting the waves on the Sunshine Coast and am also involved with refereeing football.

Leasing

A Finance Lease can be an effective way for a company to acquire goods.

The financier purchases the asset on your behalf with the financing costs calculated on the purchase price of the goods. The goods are then leased from the financier at an agreed rental for the period of the lease.

The lease rentals are generally paid either monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually. If you a have a business that has seasonal income, you can elect to make your repayments on a seasonal or irregular basis.

The rentals are generally a tax deduction based on business use.

A residual value is required for a finance lease, however, this can be negotiated within an approved range at the commencement of the lease.
